Patios built around how you live

Concrete patios in Winchester VA are the heart of what we build. A well designed patio adds an outdoor room to the house, a place for dinners, firepit nights and kids running through sprinklers, and concrete is the material that does it with the least maintenance and the most design freedom.

Design and options

Designing your concrete patio

Every patio is a handful of choices layered together: finish, size, shape, color and details. Here is how we think through each one with you.

Patio finishes

Stamped concrete carries the look of slate, flagstone or wood plank and is our signature work.

Size, shape and steps

We size a patio around furniture, not guesswork: a dining set, a seating group around a firepit, a grill zone with landing space.

Borders and color

A contrasting border is the single highest impact upgrade on a patio.

Patios under decks and porches

The shaded ground under a deck or a two story porch is some of the most usable outdoor space a house has, and most of it sits as mud or gravel.

Built for drainage and Virginia weather

Every patio we pour is pitched to move water away from the house, because a flat slab against a foundation is a wet basement waiting to happen.

How we work

From backyard sketch to first cookout

1. Site visit and estimate

We walk the yard, talk layout, finish and color, and leave you a free, no obligation estimate.

2. Prep and base

Excavation to solid ground, a compacted stone base and forms set to grade so water drains away from the house.

3. Pour and finish

The slab is poured and finished in one session, stamped, broomed or exposed, with steps and borders worked in on the day.

4. Seal and care

Once cured, the patio is sealed to lock in the color, and we hand you a simple care routine before we leave.

Client words

What Winchester homeowners say

Good to know

Concrete patio questions, answered

  • 01How big should my patio be?

Size it around what will live on it. A dining set wants roughly a twelve foot square to pull chairs out comfortably, a seating group around a firepit wants more, and a grill needs landing space beside the door. On the site visit we lay out the zones in the actual yard so you can walk the footprint before you commit.

  • 02What drives the cost difference between stamped and broom finish?

Labor and materials at the surface. A broom finish is textured in one pass. Stamping adds color, release, mats, detailing and a longer finishing window, so the same slab takes more crew time and more product. Size, access, steps and borders move the number too. Every quote is free and itemized so you can compare both finishes for your space.

  • 03How soon can we use the new patio?

Stay off the surface for the first day or two, then light foot traffic is fine. Give it about a week before dragging furniture on, and let it cure fully before heavy loads like hot tubs. We seal on the schedule the concrete needs and give you exact timing for your pour and the weather it cured in.

  • 04Will my patio crack?

Concrete shrinks as it cures, so we decide where that movement happens. Control joints are cut or tooled into the slab, placed so the pattern or banding hides them, and the compacted stone base keeps the ground from moving underneath. That is how you get a patio where any hairline movement lands in a joint instead of across the middle.

  • 05Can you extend or resurface my existing patio?

Usually, yes. A sound slab can be extended with a new pour tied into the old one, or refreshed with a decorative overlay instead of a full tear out. It depends on the condition and base of the existing concrete, so we assess it during the free estimate and tell you straight which route is the better spend.
